I think Phil was just wondering why would you wait till you and diehard got home to vent rather than speak your mind right then and there. Nobody said you did the wrong thing by making it a public fact (I actually like that you did) so dont take it the wrong way Pete.

OK, no hard feelings, here are some quick results:

Rage Entertainment and Big Time Pro Wrestling : New Beginnings
Rideau Carleton Entertainment Center
Ottawa, Ont., Jan. 30, 2010
Attendance - well over 200
Ring Announcers - Super Sam Dube, Mr. Hollywood
Referees - Alex Hetfield, Scotty Myers

(Graduated Students match) Cecil Nix vs Derek Hamilton ended in a draw.

Razz Monsour beat Jae Rukn by pinfall (with his feet on the ropes)

Crusher Kline squashed Aliah Bowers.

Frank The Beast Bradley beat Reggie Marley with a spear.

Roys Stevens beat Drake Styles with a kick to the groin followed by a chokeslam.

Koko Monsour beat The Real JJB with a roll-up (and pulling the tights)

Dave Titan beat Tray hugh Mongous by DQ when Thunder hit Titan with a briefcase.

Proff. Adib Monsour (wearing a mask) beat Maximus Primal when a wrestler wearing a similar mask and outfit interfered - this wrestler turned out to be Maximus' own brother - Drake Styles.

And congradulations to Joe Lockhart - did alot better at his debut than I expected! Wink

Looks like it was a pretty good show, hopefully we'll see a Titan vs. Thunder match soon.

I'm sure me and Diehard would have spoken with Dean about it if he would have been readily available after the show, he did come by us quickly and thanked us for coming, but looked to be in somewhat of a rush and kinda busy - it's not like I was afraid that he would power-bomb me, or would he  Huh

So is it in the story that Maximus Primal is also Damian Styles or are you going ahead and telling everyone that he should just drop the gimmick altogether since its now pointless? No offence Pete, but imo, if RE really wanted you to just say that, why would Dean even put out the effort in creating the gimmick?

I've been reading this about this "front row full" issue with some interest.

I'm curious... Were advanced tickets available for this event and if so were any sold with a "reserved" or "VIP" designation?

Some places sell numbered seats for the 1st row in advance (and in some cases the 2nd, 3rd & 4th as well) If that's the case then it's perfectly understandable why fans holding unreserved tickets or purchasing at the door might well find that the front row isn't available to them... and why people arriving to the venue much later than them get front row seats - if you have a reserved seat, why show up early & stand in the cold? You already know you're good seat is waiting for you.

IF advanced tickets for reserved front row seats were available then there really are no grounds for complaint that you weren't able to get that prime seat despite showing up to be first in line when the doors opened.

However... if ALL tickets were sold under General Seating - with no distinction about some seats being reserved then I can see people having issues with entering the venue and discovering that somehow, others had gotten in before them and scooped the best seats... or that someone had "reserved" some seats for latecomers.

I have seen numerous instances in multiple promotions where guests, friends and family of workers & staff have been granted access to venues... not only before the official door opening but also free of charge and then helped themselves to the front row seats. I find THIS type of behavior to be deplorable both on their part and the promoters for letting them do it.

ANYONE granted free access to an event should let the paying public have first access to seating... ESPECIALLY if they are the type of twatwaffles that leave after their friend or family member's match.

With VERY FEW exceptions this should always be the case and should be enforced by any promoter worth his salt.

So... Did RE/BTPW sell advance "early entry" and/or "front row reserved" tickets to this event or didn't they?

If they didn't then yes, they do owe an explanation to the fans who arrived early and waited in line hoping to get front row seats and were denied because others were already in them when the doors opened.

Just my 2 cents.

I assumed from Pete's post that it was common knowledge that Maximus Primal was in fact Dean Styles. Is this not true? (And by "common knowledge" I mean in the kayfabe sense - NOT insider or "smart" knowledge that it's him in a different gimmick)

Please advise because if Primal's true identity has NOT been revealed in a storyline then I must edit my posting of the results on OWIE immediately.

First let me say that at the end of the match Damien said why Drake why would you turn on me were family you don't need to do this you were at the top once and can get back there but this is not the right way to go about it so yes by the end of the show every fan in attendance that didn't know they were brother's now knew. Secondly they did sell advance tickets but none of their seating is VIP it's all 1st come 1st serve but when we got there and looked through the glass doors we noticed a bunch of kids already inside sitting around waiting for the show to start then when we were let in and we went to take a front row seat we noticed all these pink slips on them saying reserved..

Gordo - I didn't quote your post here, but we did have advance tickets and no... there is nothing on there guaranteeing front row seats to anyone, but it's kinda ridiculous that first public in doesn't get there.  In fact, there were only a few of us who had advance tickets... everyone else was lined up to buy tickets (there are separate lines).

GDAWG - pete didn't give away that Drake is Maximus Primal's brother... they did that in the ring with the microphones and told everyone.

BFB - yes, we did throw toilet paper in the ring.  We were going to use it for Rahim Ali's entrance (we knew nothing about the card and assumed he would be wrestling) and got approval ahead of time from Dean to do it.  He never told us Rahim wasn't wrestling, though... LOL.

So here it is, my explanation. The kids you saw in the venue were from a fantasy camp we had earlier in the day, they paid to be there. we had 18 reserved seats, this is for people that are involved with us in a business manner. That took care of the front row.
Now i get the fact that you guys are pissed at this, truth is, do you want to pay more money to be 3 feet closer? Everyone pays the same price, its always been first come first serve, at this event we had the kids in early, its the first time this happens & your all freakin out. The seating is even all the way across, seriously, whats the difference, there ain't no nose bleed section,, everything is within ear shot.
Now i do know we have a problem with fans standing up & cheering , going crazy at the matches & pretty much  loosing it for the stuff going on. Guess we're doing our job................
But, I will ask our announcer to ask the fans up front to respect the fact that the fans behind them can't see if they are standing on their chairs yelling there asses off at the stuff going on is the ring.
So to be clear, if you need to swear when you go to a wrestling show, then pls refrain from attending RE shows, other promotions are running in the area that have alot of available front row seating, & allow fans to swear all they want. Ohh, and ya wont have to worry about them standing on their chairs so you can't see. By the way, did anyone hear ANY of the wrestlers using foul language?Huh?Hmmm. By the way, the kids were from a local church group, it was there annual outing for the boys..go figure a wrestling show= a church pastor & his followers. Are we doing something right?
Guys, we are working on building new fans as well as trying to entertain the rest of ya, but we can't survive on the " smart marks" that are in the area, there just ain't enough of ya.
Attendance was 257 tickets & approx 30 guests. Not bad for a shitty fed that won't let ya swear...
Pete, Die hard, no offense taken at all. you guys wanted an explanation. there ya go. Good to have you guys at the shows, always fun to see familiar faces with all the new ones....

The advance tickets save you a few bucks, that's all they do. I never guaranteed anyone anything as far as seating goes.Personally, I think its a sham to charge more for front row, then 2nd row, then 3 rd row. Wait till we hit an arena show, then we can have those options.
Right now, I could hork across the room & hit the last row. Doesn't add up to me.
Again, i'll try & get the standing thing under control for everyone so you can all enjoy the event equally.
Yes Pete, i was busy as all hell, always am on show day........fun stuff........
D
Ohh, toilet paper thing, I was asked if it could be tossed, I said yes, I was never asked is Ali was working? Next time check the card on the official site. Also my bad for not clearing it with my security guys. Too many things to get done & I forgot to let them know. Sorry bout the grief guys.
See ya next month, Feb 27th. 7 pm , same place
Peace
